By far one of my favorite sports to shoot is soccer. I think it’s a favorite because of the speed of the game. Football is a close second, but with football you still have downtime to think about the next play. Although guessing what the next football play will be is an entire different challenge.
With soccer, you are constantly looking through the viewfinder with very little breaks, usually a foul or corner kick. Add the weather and the notorious CenturyLink Field shadow that forms early and late in the season makes for a challenging sport to cover in Seattle.
Sunday’s game included all of the above; rain, sun, the shadow and game action. In the end, the Sounders FC fought hard to beat the San Jose Earthquakes in stoppage time and will enter the MLS Playoffs as the number two seed.
Below are a few of my favorite photos from the game.
